General presentation

The Cordillera Blanca is the highest tropical mountain range in the world. The diversity of its landscape, flora and fauna make it one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world. And its 17 peaks over 6000 meters and numerous peaks between 5000 and 6000 meters above sea level make it a paradise for mountaineers and hikers from all over the world.

As for the trekking of the Huayhuash mountain range, you will experience a real exchange with nature in the middle of a multitude of snow-covered peaks, 6 of which are over 6000 metres high. And in particular the Yerupaja which rises to 6634 m, the second highest peak in Peru and among the twelve highest peaks in South America. Yerupaja, known for its sharp edges, is considered one of the most difficult peaks to climb. It is an exceptional opportunity to contemplate it during a trek in the Huayhuash mountain range. But the Yerupaja is far from being the only attraction of this trek.

You will alternate between breaking through the massif and stepping back to contemplate the breathtaking ensemble that is offered to you. Between panoramic views and high altitude lakes at the foot of snowy peaks, you will discover breathtaking natural colours during this trek.

Domos Cordillera Blanca

Domos Cordillera Blanca is a glamping project that was born during the months of the pandemic. The place is located 30 minutes from the city of Huaraz, in the middle of quinoa and corn crops, etc.

A place where you can be in contact with the Quechua people living in the area, a few steps away from the Huascaran National Park and its majestic snowy peaks.

A way to feel the nature while having a certain comfort, ideal to acclimatize before an expedition or a trekking.

Departure from Huaraz after breakfast. It's a 4.5 hour drive to Quartelhuain. By vehicle you will have pass the Conococha pass and will have the first views of the Cordillera Huayhuash with the famous Yerupaja in the distance, the second highest peak in Peru.

This first day of the expedition will also be your last day of acclimatization and adaptation to the altitude. That's why the camp will be set up in Quartelhuain itself, at 4170 meters of altitude.

No long walk that day, just an optional walk on the mountain sides to stretch the legs. The aim was to keep our strength up for the next day's pass and above all to have a good night's sleep, the first at an altitude of over 4000 metres.
